Works
At the end of the 1920s, N. I. Porkhunov designed the architectural complex of the MOPR International Children's Home in Ivanovo [1] . The building was built in the style of constructivism and from a bird's eye view resembles a sickle and a hammer [2] .
In 1928, the Komsomolets cinema was built in Stalin (now Donetsk) according to the project of G. Yanovitsky and N. Porkhunov.
In 1934, the building of the House of Soviets was restored on Lenin Square , built in 1929 according to the project of architect Ludwig Ivanovich Kotovsky [3] . The reconstruction work was dedicated to the seventeenth anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution . During the reconstruction, the decoration of the building was completely changed and the fourth floor was completed [4] .
In 1936, according to the project of N.I. Porkhunov, the building of the club of builders was rebuilt under the Palace of Pioneers, built according to the project of the architect G. Yanovitsky.
In 1936, according to the project of Porkhunov, the Institute of Occupational Health was built on Chelyuskintsev Street (Later, the Donetsk Regional Court of Appeal took over the building) [5] .
During the construction of the Donbass Hotel in 1938, the project was redesigned by I. I. Rechanik and A. A. Shuvalova. The building was partially destroyed in wartime. From 1947 to 1949, the hotel building was reconstructed according to the design of N. I. Porkunov [6] .
In 1945, the Giprograd Institute drafted a development plan for the central districts of Donetsk. N.I. Porkhunov took part in the development of this scheme, which A.D. Kuznetsov , B.V. Dabanovsky , G.I. Navrotsky , L.S. Barabash , G.A. Blagodatnyi and others also worked on.
The Krupskaya Donetsk Regional Library , built in 1935 according to the project of architect Emanuel Lvovich Gamze during the Great Patriotic War, was severely damaged, and until 1955 repairs and reconstruction were carried out according to the project of N. I. Porkhunov [7] .

He was fond of the philocarty from his youth and collected a collection of 80 thousand postcards with views of the settlements of the USSR. The collection was stored in 400 albums on shelves in the apartment. There were rare copies of the beginning of the XX century, issued in small runs. During restoration and reconstruction, the architects of Kiev turned to the Porkhunov collection to see the appearance of buildings and the history of the city’s development, because it had 11 albums with views of the architectural monuments and ensembles of Kiev, its streets and squares [8] . After the death of the architect, his collection went to the hands of various owners [9] .
