Biography
Born in the village of Zhadovka [1] in a peasant family. Russian. He had a primary education.
In the army since 1942. At the front since March 1943. Private. Deputy commander of the machine gun department of the 223rd Guards Rifle Regiment (78th Guards Rifle Division, 7th Guards Army , Voronezh Front ).
The title of Hero of the Soviet Union was awarded posthumously 11.11.1943.
He was buried in the village of Krutoy Log ( Belgorod district, now Belgorod region).
Feat
Molchanov in defensive battles in the Belgorod-Kursk direction on July 6, 1943, reflecting the enemy’s attacks, with his calculation destroyed over the Nazi platoon. He was twice wounded, but continued to fight and knocked out a tank with grenades. He died in this battle.
