Station History
The station was originally opened in 1900 at Brooklyn, Flatbush & Coney Island Railway . The double-track line in this place was land, and in 1896 it was placed in a ravine. The station consisted of two side platforms (although this name is somewhat incorrect - the platforms were earthen embankments along the edges of the tracks) and was located south of Park Place .
As part of the reconstruction of the line from 1905 to 1906 , the line was placed on an overpass (embankment). The station was provided with two side wooden platforms, as well as a lobby. In this form, the station worked for about 90 years - until the reconstruction of 1998-1999 .
During this time, the station (and the entire line) was very dilapidated. The management company was about to close the station along with the entire branch. However, the local administration persuaded to restore this subway line. In 1998, the current platform was opened, serving a single-track line.
Station today
The station is a single side platform serving the single track section of the BMT Franklin Avenue Line . Trains depart in different directions from the same path. An information board hangs on the platform, informing about the next train departure in the necessary direction. The platform itself is much wider than it was before 1998 , and is located on the site of the former second track, which was cut back during the same reconstruction. The platform is short, designed to receive a two-car train. South of the station, the line becomes double track.
