Career
Sonya Balunova was a versatile athlete - she was engaged in volleyball, athletics (javelin throwing). In 1948 she began performing in pair skating with her future husband Miloslav Balun. From 1950 to 1955, the pair became champions of Czechoslovakia. In 1953 they took the third place in the European Championship. In 1963–1964, they were consultants to Soviet coaches Moskvina , Tarasova , Zhuk . In 1967 she moved to Austria . She worked as a coach.
Family
She was married to her partner Miroslav. In 1955, they had a daughter, Sonya, later a single skater, played for Austria [1] .
