Jorge Luis Morales ( Spanish: Jorge Luis Morales ; August 7, 1960 - April 22, 1992) - Venezuelan actor of cinema, theater and TV.
Biography
Jorge Luis Morales Loggiodice was born on August 7, 1960 in Maracay, Aragua. He graduated from the theater school under the guidance of the famous Venezuelan actor and director Gonzalo Camacho. He made his debut on the stage in 1983, in the troupe of the theater "Grupo Rajatabla". He took part in the performances: "Good man from Cesuan" by Bertold Brecht and Venezuelan authors Isaac Chochron and Roman Chalbo, etc. In 1984 he was awarded the theater prize "Discovery of the Year." In 1990, he received another theater prize for the role of Khlestakov in the play "The Examiner" according to N.V. Gogol, which was directed by Adolf Shapiro. In 1986 he made his debut on the VTV channel in the telenovela "Viernes Negro", where the main roles were played by Jean Carlos Simancas and Mimi Lazo. The main part of his short TV career worked on the Venevison channel, in 1991-1992, on RCTV.
In the last years of his life he was sick with AIDS . Morales was the first public person in Venezuela to die from this disease. In 1992, during a tour in Maracay (according to another version, the actor caught a cold during the filming of the telenovela "El Desprecio", when he and actress Flor Nunez in the story were doused with ice water) he contracted pneumonia and was transferred to Caracas. There, on April 22, 1992, the actor died at the age of 31. This death caused a great scandal in Venezuela, because due to AIDS -related prejudices, doctors delayed the provision of emergency medical care. Soon after the death of the actor, Venezuela openly started talking about the AIDS problem.
