Biography
Cecily April Adams was born on February 6, 1958 in Jamaica ( Queens , New York , USA ) in the family of actor Don Adams (1923–2005) and his first wife, the singer Adelaide Evantis, who were married in 1945–1960. Cecily had one brother and five sisters, three of whom were her stepbrothers.
Career
In the period 1982-1999, Cecily starred in 18 films and TV shows. From 1987 to 2004, Adams became the casting director of 23 films and TV shows. She was also a songwriter . For many years she worked as a theater director and a teacher of acting skills .
Personal life
From 1989 until her death, Cecily was married to actor Jim Beaver (born 1950), married to a daughter, Madeline Rose (born August 19, 2001).
Illness and death
In late 2003, Cecily, who advocates a healthy lifestyle, was diagnosed with lung cancer . At the time of cancer diagnosis, Adams’s daughter, Madeleine Rose, was 2 years old, and the main incentive to survive was to raise a little daughter. She underwent many different treatments for cancer and even resorted to many innovative and experimental treatments. After 4 months of active and hard struggle with the disease, on March 3, 2004, the 46-year-old actress was gone. She was cremated, and her ashes were scattered at Fern Canyon , and at Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park [1] . Cecily's widower, Jim Beaver , published the book Life's That Way, which tells about the last months of his wife's life. A year after Adams died, her 82-year-old father, Don Adams , died [2] , and a year later, her brother Sean.
