Activities in the Warmian Diocese

In 1976, he entered the Hosianum seminary in Olsztyn , where he studied philosophy and theology .

June 6, 1982 in the cathedral of Olsztyn was ordained a priest by Bishop Warminsim. For 1 year he worked as a vicar in the parish of St. Joseph's Church in Morong .

In 1983 - 1986 he studied canon law at the Catholic University in Lublin .

In 1986, he worked in the Warmian Diocesan Curia, as well as in the diocesan court as a judge.

In 1986-1992 he was the editor-in-chief of Warmińskich Wiadomości Diecezjalnych and the confessor of the College of Education and the Academy of Agriculture and Technology in Olsztyn.

Service at the Military Ordinate of the Polish Army

In 1992, he was seconded to the Military Ordinate of the Polish Army .

June 1, 1992 was appointed notary public.

In 1993, he received his doctorate in canon law from the Department of Canon Law of the Academy of Catholic Theology.

Since 1994 - Head of the Pastoral Department of the Field Curia in Warsaw .

In 1994, he completed a postgraduate course in the operational-strategic direction at the National Defense Academy in Warsaw.

From 1995 to 2000, he was the dean of the Nadvyslensky military units of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration.

In 1996 - 2004 - referent and guardian of students of the seminary of the Military Ordinate.

Since 1998 - professor of religion at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn .

March 10, 1999 received the dignity of the prelate of His Holiness.

Since 2000, he has been the chaplain of the government's Defense Bureau, and since 2001, the dean of the government's Defense Bureau.

From 1995 to 2001 - editor of the journal of the Military Ordinate "Nasza Służba".

In 1995-2004 - correspondent of the Radio Vatican and the Catholic News Agency.

Since May 16, 2001 - Chancellor of the Field Curia.

October 16, 2004 - Catholic Field Bishop of the Polish Army - head of the military ordinate of the Polish Army .

On October 30, 2004, he was ordained bishop .

Since November 26, 2004 - national pastor of war veterans.

Since March 9, 2005 - a delegate to the Conference of Catholic Bishops of Poland on pastoral services among scouts .

On June 23, 2005, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Poland appointed him a member of the Council for the Protection of Monuments of Struggle and Martyrdom and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Warsaw Uprising Museum.

On May 10, 2006 he made a parachute jump from a height of 4000 m during training with the soldiers of the special military unit “GROM”.

Since October 19, 2006, a member of the Legal Council of the Polish Episcopate.

Since October 2007 - Representative of the Polish Episcopal Conference on Pastoral Care for the Police.

Since March 6, 2008 - Member of the Polish Episcopal Conference of the Council for Pastoral Care of Youth.

Scientific activity

As a professor at the University of Warmia and Mazury, he published over 150 scientific and popular science articles, participated in many conferences and symposiums at home and abroad on issues of military law and pastoral care.

On December 11, 2007, the Council of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Nicolaus Copernicus awarded him a doctorate in law.

On February 29, 2008, the Senate of the University of Warmia and Mazury appointed Bishop Tadeusz Flat as a professor at this university, and then head of the department of administrative law and administrative sciences.

Bishop Tadeusz Flat was killed on April 10, 2010 as a result of the crash of the presidential plane in Smolensk , during a flight to the ceremony in memory of the 70th anniversary of the massacre in Katyn [2] .
