Background
On August 18, the Polish king Jan II Casimir left Warsaw with his retinue and courtiers, and on September 8 the Swedes occupied the Polish capital. At this time, near the town of Zakrochim, under the leadership of the governor of Plock, Jan Kazimir Krasinsky, the Polish militia was stationed.
Battle Progress
Polish troops took up positions on a hill located near the rivers Vistula , Bogunarviya and Vkra . On September 21, Swedish troops, having reached Novo Dvur, attacked him from the south and quickly occupied the city. Based on previous experience, the Swedish commander hoped to persuade the nobility to surrender, but on September 28 was refused.
On the morning of September 30, after the construction of the bridge, the Stenbock army crossed the Bogunarva River. Under the cover of artillery fire, the Swedes attacked the Polish ranks, this made the enemy gradually retreat to the north. The high mobility of the Polish army helped them at a critical moment to break away from the Swedes, who could not conduct an effective pursuit. Polish casualties were relatively small - about 300 dead, 7 guns and 500 wagons.
