Biography

Born in a family of employees. Father, Sergey Nikolaevich, later - Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR and vice-president of the Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR (1966-1981), corresponding member of the Agricultural Academy of Agricultural Sciences [1] . Mom, Anastasia Vasilievna, taught chemistry in high school.

In 1934, he moved to Tashkent with his parents. He graduated from high school number 94 in Tashkent, with a gold medal.

In 1949 he entered the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology , where he graduated in 1955 with a degree in aeromechanics. Pupil S.A. Khristianovich

From 1955 to 1961 he worked at the Institute of Chemical Physics of the USSR Academy of Sciences .

In 1961-1991, a leading researcher at the Computing Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences , head of the sector of transfer processes (1968), head of the sector of asymptotic methods (1989).

In 1960 he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of physical and mathematical sciences on the topic "Features of gas flows in Laval nozzles" [2] .

In 1965 he defended his thesis for the degree of Doctor of Physics and Mathematics on the topic “Investigation of transonic flows in Laval nozzles” [3] .

Scientific interests in the field of transonic aerodynamics [4] , rarefied gas dynamics. He created a scientific school in the field of theoretical aeromechanics (among direct students, doctors of physical and mathematical sciences V.V. Aristov , V.N.Diesperov, V.I. Zhuk, Yu. B. Lifshits, E.D. Terentyev, etc.)

Member of the Russian National Committee on Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (elected 1983) [5]
