Geography and climate

The village is located 37 kilometers from Kostroma , and also 3 kilometers from the regional center - the village of Krasnoe - on - Volga. The climate is temperate continental .

History

Zdemirovo belonged to the boyar Dmitry Ivanovich Godunov. When B.F. Godunov lost power, the village with the villages was taken from Godunov, and then transferred to the Grand Palace Order. In 1661, peasant carpenters were taken from Moscow to Zdemirovo and from Sungorov to work in Moscow. They began to work in Izmailovo, but did not work there for a long time, as they soon fled from there. To catch them, on the orders of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich, a stolnik Lovchikov was sent from Moscow. In 1829, with the money of the Moscow merchant Ivan Emelyanov, as well as donations from parishioners, the stone church of Ilya the Prophet was built. In 1850, Zdemirovo with villages belonged to Prince G.P. Trubetskoy, a cousin of the Decembrist S.P. Trubetskoy.

Shrine

The main shrine of the village is the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, which is located in the iconostasis of the winter church. To date, the icon has been stolen from the temple. In the temple there is a revered image of the “Inexpressible Chalice” from which many sufferers received healing.

Church

The main attraction of the village is the Church of Elijah the Prophet . This temple was built with the money of I. Emelyanov, a merchant from Moscow, as well as with the money of parishioners in 1829. In Soviet times, it did not close, but it became very dilapidated due to the absence (until 1982) of a permanent priest; nowadays restored. The bell tower found the bells, in 2006 an external repair was carried out. Restoration work is underway inside the temple.
