Biography
The son of the philologist Andre Cherbullier [1] , made his debut in the literary field with travel essays on Greece and the East under the title “A propos d'un cheval, causeries athéniennes” (1860; new edition, 1880, with the author’s biography).
Since 1864, he became an active employee of Revue des Deux Mondes , posting articles of critical and journalistic content there (under the pseudonym G. Valbert). These articles were collected by him and published in books: "L'Allemagne politique" (1870); L'Espagne politique (1874); Hommes et choses d'Allemagne (1877); Profils étrangers (1889); "L'Art et la nature" (1892).
