The Mill of St. Gereonsm ( Gereonsmühle ) is the generic name of a preserved 300-meter section of the Cologne medieval city wall ( de: Festungsring Köln ) with two towers ( North Rhine-Westphalia ). Located on Gereonswall in the northern part of the old city ( de: Köln-Altstadt-Nord ).
The eastern tower, structurally identical to the Ulrepforta tower, was converted into a windmill in the 15th century . The mill got its name due to its location next to the now-preserved gate, named after Saint Gera ( German Gereonstor ). Another name for the mill was the Mill of the Body of the Lord mill because of the nearby Monastery of the Body of the Lord ( German Herrenleichnam ).
Almost completely destroyed towers with part of the wall were restored in 1954 by architect Hans Schilling ( de: Hans Schilling ). Next to the wall was a small park.
