According to the results of the 2010 census , the population of the city is 41,202 people, which is 5.7% more than in 2000 [2] . The city was founded in 1821 on the site of a fort, erected in 1812 during the Anglo-American War . The initial spelling of the name of the English. Findley by 1870 was supplanted by its modern form . Findlay The growth of the city is associated with the discovery here in 1896 of mineral deposits [4] . The city was badly damaged by the devastating floods of 2007 in the Midwest .
Findley hosts 15,905 households, 1,0004 families [2] . The largest employers of the city are Blanchard Valley Health System (1928 workers), Cooper Tire & Rubber Company (1865 employed), Whirlpool Corporation (1350), Marathon Oil Corporation (1599) and other enterprises [5] . The city has its own airport, which accepts both civilian flights (96% of the passenger flow), as well as private (2%) and military (2%) orders [6] . Among educational institutions - the university of the same name, founded in 1882 ( University of Findlay ), in which 3350 students study undergraduate programs and 1250 undergraduate programs [7] ; 541 people work here (10th place among employers in Findlay) [5] .
The mayor of the city is Lydia Michalik, the head of the city council is John Urbanski [8] .
