Campo Verano ( Italian: Cimitero del Verano ) is a cemetery in Rome , located around the ancient Catholic Church of San Lorenzo fuori le Mura . It was founded in 1808-1814 during the French occupation of Rome. Currently, the cemetery is divided into sections according to the confessional principle: Jewish, Catholic. There is also a monument to the victims of World War II.

During the period of activity of the so-called Russian Apostle in Abroad in the XX century, a site was purchased at the cemetery for the burial of Russian Catholics of the Byzantine rite . Here are buried:

In addition, the cemetery has a crypt of the Greek College , in which Russian clergymen Sergiy Verigin and Bishop Andrei Katkov are buried.
