The Battle of Pereryta is the clash of the troops of the Commonwealth under the command of King Jan Sobieski with the Turkish-Tatar detachments on September 13, 1691 during the march on Moldova . The Tatars attacked the squad of Jerome Lubomirsky and fought him until the king sent help. Sobieski was counting on a general battle, but the enemy did not go for it. The Tatar troops retreated, and the forces of the Commonwealth were able to cross the Prut River and go into the depths of Moldova.
