Renault Wind is a compact roadster of the French automaker Renault . It was first shown in 2004 as a concept car at the Paris Motor Show .

February 2, Renault announced that Wind will go on sale. The finished product was presented at the Geneva Motor Show on March 2 of the same year [1] . He, unlike the concept, turned out to be double [2] .
Despite the fact that the UK was one of the main buyers of the Renault brand, Wind, like Renault Laguna , Renault Espace , Renault Kangoo and Renault Modus , was not sold there; the company did this in order to reduce its costs and help make a profit. This change took effect in February 2012. Laguna, Espace, Kangoo, Modus and Wind are still available in Europe .

Engine and transmission
The concept car used a four in-line developing 136 hp. (101 kV) and 191 Nm of torque . Wind is equipped with two engines of 1.2 and 1.6 liters.
A 5-speed manual transmission is used as a power transmitter.
- The front suspension is independent, such as McPherson .
- The rear suspension is semi-independent.
- Rims - both front and rear 7J x 16.
- Tire size - 195/45 R 16.
- Brakes - disc (front 280 mm, rear 240 mm), with servo assistance and ABS .
- The steering is rack and pinion, with a variable power amplifier (number of turns - 2.7).
Design
The concept of Wind had a similar design with the productive versions of Clio and Megane . The steering wheel and pedals are adjustable and fold automatically when the door is opened for easier access. The production version, however, is heavily based on Twingo , similarity is evident in their overall dimensions, as well as the same semicircular door handles.
The serial Wind is in many ways similar to its concept, however, some changes have been made to it, such as a safety arch behind the seats and a spoiler. Unlike other cars with an open top and a metal roof, the car has a single-section roof (the same as the Ferrari 575M Superamerica), it rotates 180 degrees and folds into the luggage compartment (its volume does not depend on the position of the roof ) in just 12 seconds.
Picking
In total, 3 complete sets were available - “Dynamique” (Dynamics), “Dynamique S” and the limited edition “Collection” (“Collection”). The basic version has standard 16-inch wheels and air conditioning. Dynamique S - already 17-inch wheels and climate control. The limited edition has a shiny black roof and chrome dashboard with red accents.
