National Cadet Corps (Sri Lanka)

The National Cadet Corps is a military cadet corps (youth organization in Sri Lanka under the auspices of the Ministry of Defense of the country). Formally, the corps leads its history from the Ceylon Cadet Corps , founded in 1881 (the reserve school of the Ceylon Light Infantry ). Here the officers act as instructors. Cadets are taught initial military and drill training . Officers and cadets are not required to perform active military service, although many voluntarily go to the real army or are enrolled in reserve units.

Corps Task

The task of the national cadet corps is to train and develop cadets using effective curricula, so that each cadet tempered its character, gained courage, sportsmanship, self-confidence, self-discipline and civic self-consciousness, healthy adventurism, responsibility and a feeling of comrades elbow. All this allows you to create well-prepared young people who can provide leadership in all aspects of life.

Cadets
