History
The Yamburg Vicariate of the St. Petersburg Diocese was established on October 14, 1897. In 1899−1918, the Bishops of Yamburg were the rectors of the St. Petersburg (Petrograd) Theological Academy .
With the renaming of the city of Yamburg to Kingisepp in 1922, the vicariate also changes its name.
