History
The creation of the order in honor of the first king of Saudi Arabia, Abdel-Aziz ibn Saud, was announced on March 20, 1971 . By the same decree, the highest order of Badr was established.
The first award of the Order of Abdel-Aziz occurred in 1976 .
Regulation
The order is awarded to citizens of Saudi Arabia, as well as foreigners for their services to the state and the ruling dynasty. The rewarding of citizens of Saudi Arabia is carried out strictly from the lowest to the highest, with subsequent rewarding cannot be made in less than five years.

Insignia
The badge of the order is a golden seven-pointed star, the rays of which are pointed and covered with white enamel. Between the rays of gold laurel branches.
