Er-Rastan [2] , or Rastan [3] ( Arabic. الرستن ) is the third largest (after Homs and Tadmore ) city of the Homs province in Syria .

During the Arab spring in Syria, Er-Rastan more than once became the object of attention of the world media [4] .
Geography
Er Rastan is located in the north of Homs Governorate, 25 km from Homs and 22 km from Hama . To the south of Er Rastan is the city of Tell Bis , and to the west the area of Hula . In the north flows the river Al-Asi .
