Biography
In his youth he studied at the University of Munich . During his studies, Joseph Hitler-Barsky was involved in the activities of the Marxist organization “ Spartak Union ”, took part in the events of the November Revolution in Germany. In 1919 he was arrested and deported to Poland. From 1924 to 1928 studied at the Free Polish University . Since 1922, he held senior positions in the Polish Joint. At the same time, he took an active part in the Polish communist movement , for which he was repeatedly arrested. During the Second World War he was in the Warsaw ghetto . From 1943 to 1945, Joseph Hitler-Barsky was in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp , where he participated in the resistance movement, releasing the underground newspaper Tramwaj .
After the war he returned to Poland, where he participated in the activities of the Central Committee of Polish Jews , working in the Central Jewish Historical Commission. From 1945 to 1950, he held a leading role in the Polish branch of the Joint, from 1950 to 1953 he was the chief executive officer of PKO Bank Polski.
In February 1953, Joseph Hitler-Barsky was arrested on charges of espionage. After his release, he worked as deputy director of the confectionery factory named after July 22. In 1956 he was appointed director of this factory; He worked in this position until 1967.
From 1958 to 1961 he was a deputy of the People’s Council of Warsaw, while holding a position in the Economic Council of the city branch of the PUWP .

Joseph Hitler-Barsky published articles on economic topics in the Jewish newspaper Volkshtime , the almanac "Bleater Far Heshihte" and other Yiddish publications, as well as in the organ of the Jewish Historical Institute "Biuletyn Żydowskiego Instytutu Historycznego w Polsce" .
He was the honorary chairman of the organization of the Jewish Historical Institute.
In 1986, Joseph Hitler-Barsky published an autobiographical book , Przeżycia i wspomnienia z lat okupacji .
