Sakravor

Sakravor ( Armenian Սակրավոր , from the word Sakur, that is, the ax, the ax) - in the ancient Armenian army a warrior, as a rule, armed with a ax . Sakravores also had spades and other tools. Sakravor detachments laid roads, built bridges, cut down forests, organized military camps, trenches, etc. Sakravors were also obliged to watch the humak - a train of horses, oxen, which carried food, ammunition, camp accessories.

In the modern Armenian army, the term "sakravor" means sappers .
