Alexander Alekseevich Lyuty (May 30, 1942 , Kuibyshev ( Samara ) - 2001 , Moscow ) - Soviet and Russian geographer and cartographer , Doctor of Geographical Sciences (1990), professor, academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (1992), member of the Theoretical Cartography Commission of the International Cartographic associations (since 1999).

Biography

In 1964 he graduated from Moscow State University .

In 1964-1965 he worked as a cartographic engineer at NRCI GUGK of the USSR .

1972 - candidate of geographical sciences.

In 1974-1977 - head of the sector of the State Center "Nature" GUGK USSR.

Since 1977 - head of the cartography laboratory of the Institute of Geography, USSR Academy of Sciences .

Rewards

  • Henry Ford European Award for Preserving Cultural and Natural Heritage (1998).
  • Prize of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation for 1998 for the work “Scientific foundations and applied aspects of integrated mapping of cultural and natural heritage”.

Memorial cartographic office named after A. A. Lyuty.
