History
Founded April 16, 1961 [3]
In 1964, by Decree of the Presidium of the Armed Forces of the RSFSR, the village of the First branch of the feed farm “Georgievsky” was renamed Balkovsky [4] .
Until October 18, 1990, the village was part of the Ulyanovsk Village Council [5] .
On October 18, 1990, the Presidium of the Stavropol Territory Council of People’s Deputies decided “To establish a Balkovsky village council in the Georgievsky district with a center in the Balkovsky village, including the villages of Balkovsky and Rogova , separated from the Ulyanovsk village council of the same region” [5] .
Until 2017 [6] it was the administrative center of the rural settlement of Balkovsky Village Council [7] [8] .
