Career
Rigoberto Uranus started cycling at the age of fourteen, but was soon forced to interrupt training due to the death of his father in a shootout. Uranus was forced to earn by selling lottery tickets. Two years later, Rigoberto returned to cycling, and at the age of nineteen he moved to Italy, signing a contract with the Tenax team. took second place at the Colombian Championship in the race with a separate start .
The 2007 Colombian spent as part of the Swedish team Unibet.com . In 2009, Rigoberto showed the fifth result in the weekly Tour of Romandia , and in July he took part for the first time in the Tour de France , which he finished in the final 51st position. A year later, Uranus took part in two super-days: Jiro, he finished 35th, and Vuelta - 32nd.

In 2012, Uranus won one of the stages of the Vuelta of Catalonia , which he finished fifth. And Giro d'Italia Uranus was again the main favorite in the youth nomination, but this time he was able to confirm the title of favorite, becoming the best young racer and seventh in the overall standings.
At the 2012 Olympics in London, he won a silver medal in the group race. Uranus together with Alexander Vinokurov were able to come off 6 km to the finish line and played two medals between themselves.
