Geography
The village is located on the banks of the Klyazma River, 28 km south of Kameshkovo, near the Volga federal highway M7 .
History
Before the revolution, the village was the center of the Penkin volost of Vladimir district . In 1859 [2] there were 12 yards in the village, in 1905 [3] - 50 yards, in 1926 [4] - 59 households, an elementary school.
During the years of Soviet power - the center of the Penkinsky village council of the Vladimir region , since 1940 - the Kameshkovsky district .

Infrastructure
The village has a feldsher-midwife station, a regional hospital for war veterans, a house of culture, a post office, fire station No. 28, and a local police station [9] .
