Lausanne tram is a disappeared form of public transport in the Swiss city of Lausanne , which existed from 1896 to 1964.

On September 1, 1896, the first 4 routes were opened. The network length in 1900 was 14.3 km. In 1903, tram lines reached the Ushi area. In 1910, the length of the routes was 62 km. In the 1930s, the route network reached its greatest length - 66 km, surpassing the networks of Zurich and Basel. In 1938, with the commissioning of trolley buses, the gradual decline of the Lausanne tram began. The tram lines to Ears were soon closed. In 1964, the trolley bus completely supplanted the tram in Lausanne and its suburbs. On January 6, 1964, the Lausanne tram was last put on the line. [one]
It is planned to restore the tram by 2018. It is assumed that the first line T1 Flon - Renan will have 4 km length and 10 stops. In the longer term, it is planned to build a T2 line. [2]
