Biography
Born March 22, 1914 in a working class family. Ukrainian . He graduated from 7 classes of junior high school. He worked as a pilot in a mine in the city of Krasny Luch of the Luhansk region . After graduating from aviation engineering courses in 1934, he worked as an airplane mechanic in Kharkov .
In the Red Army since October 25, 1935 . In 1936 he graduated from the Perm Military Pilot School, in 1942 - advanced training courses for command personnel. On the fronts of World War II from June 22, 1941 .
He flew to Poland , Hungary , Czechoslovakia , Yugoslavia , Germany . He flew on the aircraft Po-2 , R-5 , SB , Pe-2 , B-25 , A-20-Zh . He was slightly injured on August 26, 1941 .
By May 1945, the squadron commander of the 27th Guards Bomber Aviation Regiment of the Guard Captain V.V. Petrushevich made 290 sorties for reconnaissance and bombardment of railway echelons, bridges, airfields, and concentration of enemy troops.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 15, 1946, for the exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the struggle against Nazi invaders and the courage and heroism shown at the same time, guards Captain Petrushevich Vasily Vasilyevich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Gold Medal Star ” under number 7525.
