Biography
Born on February 19, 1923 in the city of Vinnitsa . [one]
In 1950 he graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy of Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov and graduate school there in 1953 . [1] [2]
In 1953, Moscow State University named after MV Lomonosov defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of philosophical sciences on the topic "Features of the formation of a socialist basis in the USSR" [3]
He was an assistant professor, professor and head of the department (since 1963 ) of dialectical and historical materialism of the humanitarian faculties of Moscow State University. [1] [2] He was the first head to be elected by the department (having received such an opportunity) [4] .
In 1965, Moscow State University named after MV Lomonosov defended his thesis for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy on the topic “On the Specificity of Religion and its Place in the Public Mind” [1] [2] [5]
In 1967, the academic title of professor was awarded. [2]
From 1970 to the end of his life, he was a professor at the Department of History and Theory of Atheism and Religion, Faculty of Philosophy, Moscow State University. [one]
Scientific activity
D.M. Ugrinovich was widely engaged in questions of the sociology and psychology of religion , investigated its social roots, methods and conditions for the interaction of art and religion, Christian culture introduced domestic religious studies with the concepts of modern outstanding theologians. He also paid great attention to the theoretical development of practical issues of religion (the revival and development of ritualism, etc.). He made a significant contribution to the development of higher humanitarian education in Russia, to the deepening of domestic scientific research.
He was engaged in scientific work at the international level, as a member of the International Sociological Association . In 1970 - 1978 he served as vice president of the research committee of the sociology of religion of the International Sociological Association, and was also a member of the executive committee of the committee of the sociology of religion. Together with German scientists, he wrote a collective monograph, “The Problem of Man in the Modern World,” published in Berlin in 1983 . [one]
