Kiev Voivodship ( Latin Palatinatus Kioviensis , Polish. Województwo kijowskie ) is an administrative-territorial unit formed in 1471 as part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania , and since 1569 - as part of the Lesser Poland province of the Kingdom of Poland . It was liquidated in 1793 as a result of the second division of the Commonwealth .

Until 1667, the capital of the province was Kiev . Under the terms of the Andrusovsky truce, the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth lost most of the voivodship and its capital, but its name was not changed. The center of the province became Zhytomyr .
The gentry seymik was located in Ship Cherry . This major voivodship included only three districts : Kiev , Ovruch and Zhytomyr . The voivodship had three senators .
Geography
Kiev Voivodeship is located on the Dnieper Uplands and Lowlands ; in the north - Polesie lowland .
The territory of the Kiev Voivodeship is fully part of the Dnieper basin ( Black Sea basin of the Atlantic Ocean ). The main rivers in the province are the Dnieper, the lower reaches of the Pripyat and Desna . The left tributaries of the Dnieper in the province are Desna, Sula , Vorskla , Psel . Right tributaries - Pripyat (with Uzh ), Grouse , Ros . Within the voivodship, most of the Ingulets flowed, but its mouth was already beyond the borders of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth - on the territory of the Wild Field , in the field of geopolitical interests of the Zaporizhzhya Lower and Crimean Khanate Troops.
