As part of the national team of Kazakhstan, he participated in 7 Olympiads ( 1994 - 2002 , 2008 , 2014 ).

In 2012 - 2016 was the head coach of the women's national team of Kazakhstan, left because of a conflict with leading chess players [1] .

But in February 2017 Kotsur won the competition for the post of head coach of the men's team of Kazakhstan [2] .
