74th Infantry Division (Russian Empire)

Formed in July 1914 from the frame of the 37th Infantry Division . She was a member of the 6th Army of the St. Petersburg Military District.

Three divisions of the St. Petersburg district — the 67th, 68th, and 74th — were left in the 6th army to guard the Baltic coast ... The 74th infantry division, deployed from the 37th, was sent in the winter of 1914/15 in the 8th army in the Carpathians. General Brusilov treated the “St. Petersburg porters and janitors” downhill, many times while rescuing his army in the Carpathians and with honors participating in the Dobronouc battles in the spring and summer of 1916.

The 74th Artillery Brigade was formed in July 1914 to mobilize the Novgorod province from a shotgun allocated by the 37th Artillery Brigade. From 11/12/1914 (presumably) renamed the 55th Artillery Brigade and attached 55th Infantry Division.
