History
The Institute of Archeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences was established on November 19, 1953 , standing out from the Office of Research on the Origins of the Polish State . Until 1992, it was called the Institute of the History of Material Culture.
The aim of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnology is the integration of scientific research of history in the field of archeology and cultural history.
