About the album

After the release of the debut album The Party's Over, the composition of the group was updated: it left Simon Brenner [2] . Unlike the debut release, at It's My Life the team tried to develop their own style of performance. In It's My Life, synthesizers still played a dominant role. Of the entire disc, Allmusic critic Chris Woodstra highlighted the title track, “It's My Life”; "Dum Dum Girl", the opening disc, as well as the "stunning" "Does Caroline Know?". In addition, the observer noted the progress in writing lyrics and the musical diversity created on the disc. This time Talk Talk themselves proved that they were able to create a single whole album, which, according to the reviewer, was a real surprise [1] .

The main single of the album was the song “It's My Life”, which became a hit. On the single's B-side , the song “Does Caroline Know?” Is posted. In 2006, “It's My Life” was included on the Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories video game soundtrack. The song was reissued in 1990 along with other Talk Talk hits - Life's What You Make It and Such a Shame .

The composer of most of the songs on the disc is Mark Hollis, and Tim Freeze-Green acted as co-author and producer of the album. In 1985, in Germany, the record received a gold status [3] .
