Anthony Joseph (Tony) Gilroy ( born Anthony Joseph "Tony" Gilroy ; born September 11, 1956 ) is an American film director and screenwriter . He wrote the scripts for a series of films about Jason Bourne , where the main role was played by Matt Damon and made the fourth film of the franchise. He was nominated for an Academy Award for directing and screenwriting Michael Clayton , starring George Clooney . Gilroy also wrote the script and made the film Nothing Personal with Julia Roberts and Clive Owen in the lead roles.

Biography
Tony Gilroy was born in Manhattan , New York into the family of sculptor and writer Ruth Dorothy (maiden name Geydons) and playwright Frank D. Gilroy. He has brothers: screenwriter Dan Gilroy and editor John Gilroy. [1] [2] He now lives in Manhattan with his family.
Screenwriter career
Gilroy has written scripts for many films, starting with the 1992 Golden Ice script. It was followed by Dolores Claiborne of 1995 and Devil's Advocate of 1997. He was also one of those who wrote the screenplay of Armageddon , the highest grossing film of 1998. Gilroy's next scenario was 2000 Proof of Life . From 2000 to 2006, he wrote the scripts for the films Bourne Identity , Bourne Supremacy and the Bourne Ultimatum .
Director career
In 2007, Gilroy made his debut film Michael Clayton , a screenplay written by his brother John Gilroy. The film was nominated for seven Academy Awards , including for Best Film , Best Director, and Best Actor . In addition to the Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best Motion Picture, the film received one Oscar for Best Supporting Actress ( Tilda Swinton ). Gilroy’s latest film is Nothing Personal 2009, to which he also wrote the screenplay. Starring Clive Owen , Julia Roberts and Tom Wilkinson .
In 2010, he was hired as a co-writer and director of the fourth film of the Born movie series. Starring Jeremy Renner , Rachel Weiss , Edward Norton , Joan Allen and Albert Finney . The premiere of the Bourne Evolution film in Russia took place on August 30, 2012.
