Policy
In the 2012 presidential election, the inhabitants of the canton gave Francois Hollande in the 1st round 27.2% of the vote against 26.8% of Marin Le Pen and 24.1% of Nicolas Sarkozy , and Hollande won in the 2nd round of the canton 51.7% of the vote (2007 1st round: Sarkozy - 26.7%, Segolen Royal - 21.6%; 2nd round: Sarkozy - 52.3%). In the elections to the National Assembly in 2012 in the 6th constituency of the Pas de Calais department, they supported Socialist Party candidate Brigitte Bourguignon , who won 25.4% of the vote in the 1st round and 54.7% in the 2nd round. (2007, 7th arr. 1st round: Gilles Coquempo (SP) - 29.4%, 2nd round: Natasha Bouchard (SND) - 50.3%).
