Life and career
Marlene Wesden was born in Las Vegas, Nevada. Taking the pseudonym Abby Dalton, she made her debut on the big screen in 1957, with the main role in the movie "Rock Throughout the Night" and in the following decades actively appeared on television screens. She appeared as a guest star in many Westerns, including Maverick . Subsequently, she appeared in the sitcoms “Three of my Sons”, “Nanny and Professor” and “American Love”.
Dalton became best known for her major female roles in the classic sitcom Hennessey ( CBS , 1959-1962), which earned her an Emmy nomination [2] , and for the Joey Bishop Show ( NBC , 1962-1965). In 1974, she got the role of wife in the ABC sitcom Barney Miller, but was fired and replaced by Barbara Barry after a pilot episode.
From 1981 to 1986, Dalton starred in the CBS Prime Time soap opera Falcon Cross , playing the character's oldest daughter, Jane Wyman . After leaving the series, she was a guest star in " She wrote the murder " and " Hotel ."
Dalton was married twice, she has three children from her first marriage. Her daughter, actress Kathleen Kinmont, was married to Lorenzo Lamas , son of Dalton in Falcon Cross [3] .
