Career

Nelson was born in Moscow . His father is a native of Ghana, his mother is Russian. A pupil of the Sports School of CSKA [2]. Leo was called up to the youth team of Russia until the age of 19 . Nelson was the first African-born player to play for the Russian national team. At the age of 17, he joined the Torpedo-Luzhniki team. In mid-2000, he moved to Lipetsk Metallurg , in which he scored a victorious goal against Zenit in the 1/16 final of the Russian Cup . Later he played in the championships of Kazakhstan (champion and holder of the Kazakhstan Cup in 2001), Belarus and a number of clubs of the first and second divisions of Russia. In 2009, Nelson ended his career and went into the restaurant business. Since 2010, he has been marketing premium fitness clubs in Moscow.
