History
The Stade du Mustoire was built in July 1959 in the Mustoire quarter of Lorient , France . There were only 6,000 seats in the stadium, and a bicycle track was located around the field. In 1998, the first reconstruction of the stadium began, the old grandstand and cycle track were dismantled. Two stands were re-erected, which allowed to increase capacity by 5,000 seats [2] .
The next season, “ Lorient ” flies to League 2 , and construction is frozen for an indefinite period. When they returned to the elite division in the mid-2000s, reconstruction was soon resumed. In 2010, the second reconstruction was completed at the stadium, after which a new southern stand was erected. This allowed to increase the number of seats to 18 110.
