GCompris (pronounced "the same compromise" from fr. J'ai compris "I understand!" ) Is a software package of educational games for children 2-10 years old.

Description
It is a set of more than 140 exercises in a game form:
- Learning a computer : exercises with a keyboard and mouse .
- Research : memory training for sounds, colors, etc., maze, braille . A variety of games : the study of hours, geography , etc.
- Experiments : physical phenomena , electrical circuits ( GnuCap ).
- Entertainment : Tux Paint graphics editor, text editor , football.
- Mathematics : arithmetic , geometry .
- Puzzles : puzzles , tag , Hanoi tower , sudoku , tangram .
- Reading : reading lessons of letters and words, the game " Hangman ".
- Strategy games : Chess ( GNU Chess ), four in a row .
The GCompris software package can be used by one user or configured individually for several users both on the same PC and in the local network , with the collection of statistics and success in completing each user's tasks. This is convenient for creating lessons (for example, reading, foreign languages, mathematics, computer science) in educational institutions and kindergartens.
The idea of creating is to provide a convenient and simple single platform for the development of training programs.
GCompris is an open source cross-platform software and is distributed in installation packages for the most popular operating systems: Windows , Linux , MacOS .
The program was originally developed by the GTK + community. In 2014, the ambitious task of rewriting the entire program for Qt Quick began .
In 2015, it became known that the program was ported to Android for mobile devices ( tablets and smartphones ) and published on Google Play as free software, with the possibility of paid expansion of the available number of exercises and games.
Also, at the end of 2014, the G-Compris community launched a crowdfunding campaign to create new improved and unified graphics [4] .
