Biography

Born on the island of Madeira in a Jewish family. In 1946 he arrived in Lisbon , in 1948 he moved to Coimbra , where he entered the university , at first to the law faculty, but then switched to romance philology. The course is not finished. He returned to Lisbon, changed several professions, became close to a circle of poets close to surrealism , which included Maria Cesarini , Luis Pasheku and others. He made his debut in 1958 with a book of poems Love for the visit . Wandered around Europe. In the early 1970s he lived in Angola , where he was engaged in journalism. Published several books of prose. Collaborated with opposition publisher Dom Quixote , founded by Sleep Abekassish .
