The Zeppelin Museum ( Zeppelin Museum ) in Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance is a museum dedicated to the history of the construction of airships by the company of Count von Zeppelin Luftschiffbau Zeppelin GmbH , which during the first half of the 20th century created the most famous airships.
Museum
The museum was founded in 1996 and is located in the building of the former station. The museum describes the history of the airship in Friedrichshafen from the construction of the first balloon to the largest airships of the 1930s. The main part of the exposition is a 33-meter reconstruction of the section of the airship LZ 129 Hindenburg , created by Luftschiffbau Zeppelin GmbH in 1936. In the lower part of the reconstruction (deck B), cabins and a smoking room are recreated. The upper part of the reconstruction (deck A) recreates the wardroom, a walking area with an observation deck and several passenger cabins.
The museum also presents the original engine nacelle from the LZ 127 Graf Zeppelin airship.
The museum also has an archive and library with materials related to airship building. On the top floor of the museum are exhibits not related to the history of airships, for example, the work of Otto Dix .
