Martin Hannet [3] ( born Martin Hannett ; May 31, 1948 [4] [5] - April 18, 1991 ) is a music producer , one of the founders of the Manchester label Factory Records . Thanks to Hannet, Joy Division gained its classic sound, it was on their records that Hannet's corporate identity was developed, consisting in minimal, atmospheric sound with barely noticeable use of electronics ( synthesizers , echo generators). In addition to Joy Division, Hannet has worked with most Factory Records artists (including the early New Order , Happy Mondays ). Due to heavy drug addiction (addiction to heroin ), Hannet since the early 1980s. almost no one was recording. Died of heart failure.
