Overview

The action of the series took place in the same hotel, which was managed by rich aristocratic Victoria Cabot ( Ann Baxter ), and Peter McDermott ( James Brolin ), who had a relationship with Christine Francis ( Connie Sellecca ), helped her. In the middle of the series, Victoria Cabot died, as the performer of the role, Anne Baxter, died from cerebral aneurysm.

Bette Davis was to play the role of the hotel owner. Although the actress starred in the pilot episode and her images were part of the series’s advertising campaign, Davis left the project due to poor health. Ann Baxter, who starred with Davis in the movie " All About Eve " in 1950, replaced her. Nevertheless, Betty Davies later appeared in the series as a mysterious narrator behind the scenes.

Because of the concept of the series, which was that at the center of each episode was the story of one of the guests, guests or hotel staff, the project attracted major stars to these roles, as well as another hit TV show of the ABC channel of that period - sitcom “ Love Boat ” ". However, the “Hotel” touched upon more serious and controversial topics, such as abortion, infidelity, rape, suicide, lesbianism, spousal violence and abuse of minors.
