Biography
Gimazetdin Vazetdinovich Vazetdinov was born in 1907 in the village of Isansupovo of the Menzelinsky district of the Ufa province of the Russian Empire (now the village of the Muslyumovsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation ) in the family of a peasant Vazetdin Akhmadullin. Tatar [1] . Gimazetdin's father died on the fronts of the First World War , and he, as the eldest, took care of the family. From 10 years old Gimazetdin Vazetdinov labored, but managed to study, having graduated from five classes of a school in the neighboring village of Tatarskoye Bulyarovo . In 1928, he was one of the first in the village to join the Komsomol. From that time he began to work on the collective farm named after V.I. Lenin.
In the ranks of the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army G.V. Vazetdinov was called up in 1929 . He served in Novorossiysk . He completed a seven-year education in the army. Then he graduated from the school of junior commanders. Demobilized in October 1933, Gimazetdin Vazetdinovich returned to his native places. He graduated from the Menzelinsky Agricultural College in Menzelinsk . For some time he worked as chairman of the collective farm named after V.M. Molotov in the village of Old Semiostrovo, Kalinsky (now Aktanyshsky ) district of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic , then again joined the army. In 1938, G.V. Vazetdinov graduated from junior lieutenant courses. He served as company commander in Kazan in the 330th motorized rifle regiment of the 86th motorized rifle division of the Volga Military District .
In mid-January 1940, the division, in which junior lieutenant G.V. Vazetdinov served, was transferred to the city of Kingisepp, Leningrad Region , where it began preparations for military operations on the Karelian Isthmus . On February 22, 1940, she took up positions on Koivistosaari Island, from where, on March 4, 1940, as part of the 28th Rifle Corps of the 7th Army of the Northwest Front , she marched on the ice of the Gulf of Finland to the rear of the Vyborg fortified area of the Finnish troops. On March 5, the 330th motorized rifle regiment of the 86th division captured the Pitkaniemi Peninsula. In the battle for the bridgehead, junior lieutenant G.V. Vazetdinov replaced the machine gunner who died in the battle, causing significant damage to the Finns. Expanding the bridgehead, the 330th motorized rifle regiment reached the village of Skippari, but was stopped by the fire of enemy bunkers . With two groups of fighters, junior lieutenant V.G. Vazetdinov crept up to machine gun points and destroyed them with grenades, after which his company burst into the enemy’s trenches and fixed on the outskirts of the village. In a fierce battle for the capture of the village of Skippari [2] on March 8, 1940, Gimazetdin Vazetdinovich heroically died. He was buried in a mass grave [3] in the village of Syakkijärvi (now the village of Kondratyevo, Vyborg District, Leningrad Region).
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 21, 1940, for the “exemplary performance of command missions on the front against the Finnish White Guard and courage and heroism shown at the same time”, junior lieutenant Gimzetdin Vazetdinov was posthumously awarded the high rank of Hero of the Soviet Union .

- A memorial plaque in memory of Vazetdinov was erected by the Russian Military Historical Society on the building of the Tatar-Bulyar High School of the Muslyumovsky District, where he studied.
