Biography
Since childhood, Stalin was fond of ballet. His parents took him to the studio of Zakhar Lange in Kiev, where dance evenings were held. Here he became friends with S. Lifar [1] .
After the revolution, he began to study at the Kiev ballet school of Bronislava Nizhinsky , was her favorite student. When leaving for France in 1921, B. Nizhinskaya asked Oleg’s parents to allow her to take a capable boy with her, but was refused.
The creative activity of O. Stalinsky began in the 1920s at the Kiev Opera and Ballet Theater . Until 1941, he danced in the theaters of Sverdlovsk , Tbilisi , Odessa , and Minsk .
He improved his mastery in the classes of famous teachers of classical dance, among whom were Ekaterina Vazem , V. Ponomaryov , V. Semenov, Galina Berezova.
In the early days of World War II, he volunteered for the front, was wounded and received a spinal contusion. After treatment, he entered and graduated with honors from the Department of Foreign Languages of the Alma-Ata Pedagogical Institute. Along with his studies, he tried to restore the ability to dance.
A year later, again entered the stage of the Theater. Abay in the ballet " Bakhchisarai Fountain ". O. Stalin played the part of Giray and was a partner of Galina Ulanova .
O. Stalinsky was tirelessly engaged in drama, taking lessons from famous Ukrainian masters: teacher of the Moscow Art School I. Alien and E. Vakhtangov's comrade-in-law K. Kotlubay .
The artist devoted most of his creative life to the Lviv Opera and Ballet Theater. Ivan Franco. For many years since the late 1940s, he was the performer of the main parties in classical and modern ballets. In total, he performed more than one hundred roles of the classical and modern repertoire.
He was distinguished by his enviable creative longevity: at the age of 75, Oleg Nikolaevich still played characteristic roles. Later, he transferred his rich creative experience to students, taught a course in stage movement and dance.
The style of his dance gravitated towards the creation of bright, colorful images. Oleg Stalinsky left a significant and vivid trace in the history of Ukrainian ballet with his art and his very personality.
He died in Lviv and is buried in the Lychakiv cemetery . A monument is erected on the grave of O. Stalin.
