History

Lighted ski-roller track

In the pre-war years, trees grew on the slopes of the mountains, before World War II, the forest was completely cut down for heating the city of Ishimbay and the needs of industry [2] .

In the 1960s, a green attack began on bare slopes and wastelands. Many students from Smakayev grew up next to the pine trees and birches planted by them [2] .

Vladimir Nikolayev Polyakov , the chairman of the executive committee of the Ishimbay City Council from 1965 to 1986, personally participated in the tree planting [2] .

In 1978, a 2-kilometer-long illuminated ski-roller track was built - one of the favorite places of citizens.

Biathlon Shooting Range

At the initiative of the trainer of the youth school No. 1 V.V. Novozhilov , in the early 1980s preparations began for the construction of a biathlon shooting range. Specialists identified and measured the route, dug a giant pit for the shooting range. Ishimbay coach and athlete Anatoly Mikhailovich Gvozdik was appointed the head of the shooting range. Together with V.V. Novozhilov, he visited Belarus , the city of Raubichi , to take drawings of installations (targets). Then the drawings were handed over to the engineers of the Ishimbay plant of transport engineering , where they produced targets of excellent quality. According to high sports standards, iron installations - slides for upgrading routes [3] were mounted at IZTM.

Soon a three-story building appeared at the shooting range, which is now in a dilapidated state. It was planned that the referees should settle down on the second floor and from there observe the shooting of athletes. Above was the VIP box for high-ranking guests, and under the judiciary was a small warehouse with additional targets. The building was built, but almost never used, because the era of " perestroika " began [3] .

Mountain Peaks

The forest park itself is a mountainous area. On its territory there are a number of mountain peaks - Mayak with a viewing platform and Ishimbay television center (231.3 m.), Alabaster (233.9 m.), As well as large elevations of 255 and 161.8 m. There is a cave in the area of Smakayevo microdistrict [5] .
