Division History
Formed in July 1914 from the frame of the 19th Infantry Division . It became part of the 3rd Army of the South-Western Front.
The 65th deployed from the 19th Infantry Division, especially the 237th Yevpatoriya Infantry Regiment, fought well. The First Battle of Galicia (Ferleyuv, Rogatin), Forest Carpathians, then the retreat from Galicia, the Vilna operation, the trench warfare at Smorgon, and in the last year of the war, when it amounted to the 78th Division of the XXVI Army Corps, the struggle in Bukovina are entered on its form at Dorn Vatra and Kirlibaba.

The 65th artillery brigade was formed in July 1914 by mobilization in Vinnitsa from a frame allocated by the 19th artillery brigade.
