The Russian Basketball Championship 2012/2013 (officially called the BEKO PBL Championship ) is the 3rd season held under the auspices of the Professional Basketball League and the 22nd Russian Championship. The winner of the championship was CSKA .

Content
Combining with VTB United League
In January 2012, information appeared that a professional East European basketball league would be created on the basis of VTB United League, which would hold the Russian Open Championship [1] . In fact, the union did not take place. On July 15, 2012, the VTB United League Council was held, which approved the format and rules of the tournament [2] . On July 16, 2012, the PBL Council passed, which prepared for approval the draft regulations of the Russian Championship [3] .
On October 2, 2012, PBL clubs appealed to the President of VTB United League so that PBL became a structural unit of the Unified League and jointly held their championships [4] .
On October 3, 2012, Sergey Ivanov agreed with the condition that the PBL clubs themselves agree with the RBF on the championship of Russia [5] .
On October 31, 2012, BEKO became a sponsor of VTB United League [6] .
Rules
The regular championship is held in two rounds from October 2012 to April 2013, the result of which determines the champion of Russia. All teams meet among themselves at home and guest arenas. Matches of Russian clubs playing in the VTB United League among themselves at the group stage will be included in the standings in the championship of Russia [7] .
In total, each team will play 18 matches in the regular season.
