It is part of the Charozersky rural settlement [1] , from the point of view of the administrative-territorial division - in the Charozersky village council.
The distance by road to the district center of Kirillov is 72 km, to the center of the municipality of Charozero - 15 km. The nearest settlements are Zuevo , Roslikovo , Komlino .
According to the census in 2002, there was no permanent population [2] .
In the former village of Pogostishche, archaeological excavations of the Mesolithic era are carried out under the auspices of the Cherepovets State University and the Cherepovets Museum of Archeology. The scientific director of the archaeological site is the candidate of historical sciences, Kososrukova Natalya Valentinovna.
